Chlorhexidine is a disinfectant that is effective against bacteria and fungi. It has been shown to prevent plaque formation in the mouth and can be used as an adjunct in animals with gingivitis and skin fold inflammation. Chlorhexidine is particularly effective in the mouth and, unlike other substances, binds to proteins and enamel. It is released from them slowly, over 24 hours, creating a “depot” effect.
Dentihex® paste is tasty, easy to use, and well tolerated by animals. It adheres to the mucous membrane and teeth in the mouth. Regular use of Dentihex® maintains a normal oral environment and can slow down or prevent the formation of tartar and plaque.

Usage
Dentihex® contains chlorhexidine, a well-known disinfectant active against bacteria, viruses and fungi. It is used in dogs and cats with gingivitis, skin fold dermatitis, stomatitis, periodontitis, plaque and tartar buildup.
Method of use
It is recommended to use the preparation in the oral cavity with the nozzle included in the package. It makes it easier to reach deeper gums. When used externally, the paste should be carefully spread on the affected area with a clean finger. In the mouth, the animal distributes the paste itself with its tongue.
Dentihex® can be used daily or once a week depending on the situation.
Dentihex® is recommended for use after feeding.

Side effects
Dentihex® is well tolerated. In rare cases, cats may experience increased salivation. With constant and long-term use of Dentihex®, the teeth may become darker. The dark surface is easily removed with ultrasound.
